Dear Practice
Members,
Now that
you've made some progress. I want to alert you to a problem you
might encounter soon:
You may start
feeling so good that you'll think your spine is throught healing!
Unfortunately,
the strengthening of the supporting muscles and soft tissue can
take longer to heal than indicated by how you feel. Some of the
most important healing takes place after your symptoms are gone.
I mention
this because we've often seen patients discontinue their care about
this time, only to have a relapse later.
Our culture
teaches us to ignore our health until we have obvious symptoms.
We're used to thinking that being symptom free means we're healthy.
But consider some of the top causes of death this days, such as
high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer. When the first symptom
appears, it's often too late to reverse the damage.
That's why
we recommend a program of periodic "wellness" care. That
way we can catch some of those little aches or pains before they
become serious. When you reach that stage, let's talk about ways
that we can help you stay well.
Of course,
how long you decide to benefit from chiropractic care is your decition.
Our intent is to simply share information that can help our patients
make informed choices. We're happy to honor and support whatever
decision you make.
Sincerely,
Dr. Hung
